Secluded, scenic and set in the most atmospheric of surroundings, the yurt is a distinct feature of life at Lickisto Blackhouse Camping. Our yurts are circular, wooden framed tent-like structures which come complete with wood-burning fires, to offer protection against the sometimes wild Scottish elements. 

Our yurts can accommodate two to four people and offer a truly unique and nomadic experience. We highly recommend yurts for those looking to enjoy a luxurious style of glamping. Dogs are welcome. There is a double futon and a single futon with two mattresses which can double up as armchairs. A two-ring gas cooker with cutlery and utensils along with a wood burner.  

The ancient Greeks were the first to document tales of using yurts to attract nomadic travellers, but the word “yurt” is actually Russian for “dwelling.” And that is exactly what we offer here on Lickisto; a cosy, nomadic dwelling on the picturesque Island of Harris.
