Book the perfect Isle of Harris Campsite Experience

Experience the mystical attraction of the beautiful Island of Harris and Lewis. The island is also the perfect location to witness the natural wonder and theatrical performance of the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis).

Bask in the picturesque scenery, spot the abundance of local wildlife, take a step back from everything and enjoy what nature has to give. Lickisto Blackhouse Camping offers all of this and in true nomadic style, without compromise.

At Lickisto, you can go glamping in one of our traditional Yurts, or reside in our Bedouin Tent, and be protected against the wild Scottish elements with both featuring log fires. Or stay in our unique Bothy. Alternatively, park up your campervan, or simply pitch your tent in one of our beautiful locations, either exposed to the seaviews or protected in our private woodland. Our historic 150 year old Blackhouse offers showering and cooking facilities, and also a washing machine and tumble dryer. It is also the perfect place to meet, chill and chat, steeped in Scottish History. No matter which you choose you will be located within easy reach of both the ferries on the south of the island and only 10 minutes from our beautiful beaches on the west side of the stunning Bays area.

Welcome To Lickisto Blackhouse Camping

Our Blackhouse is around 150 years old and is a very popular place to meet, relax and chat whilst also providing an education and timely reminder of ‘days of yore’ – a very unique feature of Outer Hebridean life.

Upon wandering around Lickisto Blackhouse Camping, you will discover diverse vegetation and windbreak paths synonymous with the campsite.

Our particularly special site is secluded, private, holistic and an experience similar to ‘middle earth.’

The Lickisto ethos is simple; enjoyment, respect, laughter and sampling what nature has to offer. The local wildlife certainly appears to enjoy the natural habitat, with seals, otters and both sea and golden eagles, all of which have embraced the environment of Lickisto and Harris for 100’s of years. They seem to be a good judge of ‘home from home.’

It is an excellent launchpad to explore Harris due to its ease of access to all parts including our famous beaches.

The Saturday music nights have grown from strength to strength raising over £650 for our chosen charity, McMillen Cancer Research. The music is usually accompanied by our local Venison Casserole cooked over an open fire and made using only locally sourced produce.

I look forward to welcoming you to our secluded campsite and special island.
